Following reports that the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah team has identified an actor to portray Dayaben, producer Asit Modi addressed inquiries regarding Disha Vakani's potential return. Disha has played the role of Dayaben since the show's inception and has garnered significant affection from the audience. In a recent conversation, Asit indicated that he has not yet finalized the casting for Dayaben's character.

Dayaben is set to make a comeback on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Discussing the beloved character, Asit mentioned that Dayaben's return is imminent. “Viewers have been eagerly anticipating Daya Bhabhi's return, and I will finalize her casting soon. Many fans express that the show is less enjoyable without Dayaben, and I concur. Our team is making every effort to mitigate Daya Bhabhi’s absence, but she will be back shortly,” Asit stated.

Will Disha Vakani return to TMKOC?

Regarding Disha Vakani's return to TMKOC, Asit expressed that she is like a sister to him, acknowledging the challenges she may face in returning. “We can only hope for Disha Vakani's return to the role. She is very dear to me, and her family responsibilities may make it difficult for her to come back. We still miss her greatly. She was dedicated and caring towards her fellow cast members and the crew. We aspire to find someone with similar qualities,” he added.

What recent reports say about Dayaben

Last month, it was reported, referencing its sources, that "It is indeed accurate. Asit ji has been on the lookout for a new Dayaben, and recently, one of the auditions left a strong impression on him. Currently, mock shoots with the actress are underway. She has been with us for approximately a week, engaged in filming." Disha has not been seen on the show since her maternity leave in 2018.

In 2022, it was alleged that Disha developed throat cancer as a result of Dayaben's distinctive voice on the program. In October of that year, Malav Rajda, the director of the show, took to Instagram to denounce the misleading reports. He posted a screenshot of an article that claimed Disha experienced throat problems due to Dayaben’s unique vocal style.
