There might just be another shocker on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah this week. Abdul has gone missing from the show out of the blue, which is a graph that might just lead to Sharad Sankla's replacement entering the show. But is that really happening? Here's what we know so far...

Is Abdul's replacement entering Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

So far, there is no news of Sharad Sankla getting replaced on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. However, gossip mill did have it that the actor has indeed quit the show back in May. But again, that's just gossip with no confirmation. For the uninitiated, Sharad Sankla had humble beginning and has even earned Rs. 50 a day to earn a livelihood. Today, he owns two restaurants in Mumbai, apart from his works in TV serials. Sharad, like many other actors, is associated with the show for 16 years now and celebrated the success with the team recently. Sharad also celebrated his birthday on sets, with a whole week dedicated to his birthday.

Where did the rumour mills begin?

The rumours started because of what happened with Goli. Dr. Hathi's son had gone out and went missing. This was in order to replace Goli's Kush Shah. It was previously reported that Kush has shifted to US for his studies and so, his character was bound to be replaced some day. However, there's no confirmation about Abdul. On the contrary, his last post on what is expected to be his Instagram profile, is about Sharad feeling confident on the sets of TMKOC. This hints that the actor is not facing as much trouble and might continue playing Abdul on the show. It is to be noted that the other actors who quit (Shailesh Lodha, Jennifer Bansiwal) all had issues with the production house and thus, went ahead in their own journey, beyond TMKOC. Something similar happened with Gurucharan Singh Sodhi too, who had gone missing in real life, but came back and is on his journey to healing. For now, we do not hear about Sharad facing issues with the production house, or that he has other commitments to give priority to. So, he might just be staying back.

How did Abdul go missing?

For nearly four episodes now, Abdul's topic has been touched upon. It began on Saturday, with Madhavi stating that Abdul's phone is unreachable. He had not opened his store after Saturday evening, and had not informed anyone of his whereabouts. This has left Gokuldham society members worried about where one of their own men would have gone without leaving a trace. Thus, they sought help from Chaalu Pandey, but given his history with the society, he too has doubts that Abdul would come back. Our guess? Abdul is on his way to his village and could not charge his phone, and could be back sooner than expected (probably in tonight's episode itself).
