Actor Gurucharan Singh, renowned for his portrayal of Roshan Sodhi in the television series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has recently been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. His friend, Bhakti Soni, has provided a health update, indicating that he has ceased eating and is currently described as "very weak."

Bhakti Soni gives an update

In an interview with Indian Express, Bhakti discussed her concerns regarding Gurucharan's health, noting that he is currently experiencing financial difficulties.

Bhakti stated, “I have been attempting to reach out to him and his family for the past few days, but their phones are turned off. Therefore, I do not have any updates on his condition at this moment. Three days ago, when he was admitted to the hospital, I spoke with his mother. I have not had any communication with Gurucharan since then. I am unaware of his current situation, but from what I last heard, he is unable to speak and is very weak.”

Bhakti disclosed that Gurucharan had ceased consuming solid food three months prior and was relying solely on a liquid diet. She elaborated, “He stopped eating after returning home three months ago. I am not certain of the exact timing, but he has not been eating solid food. In recent days, he has also refrained from drinking water, which led to him losing consciousness. He has been on a liquid diet, consisting mainly of milkshakes and coconut water, for some time now.”

She further mentioned that Gurucharan’s family had urged her to encourage him to drink water, but he has been unresponsive to their pleas. When asked if stress contributed to Gurucharan’s condition, Bhakti revealed that he is grappling with financial and property-related issues.

Additionally, she asserted that Gurucharan’s family had diminished their regard for him due to his lack of income. Bhakti also refuted claims suggesting that Gurucharan wished to renounce worldly life and escape, stating that he is “unwell and has given up food entirely because he wants to die.”

Gurucharan Singh hospitalised

Earlier this week, Gurucharan announced that he had been admitted to the hospital. He took to Instagram to share a video of himself resting in his hospital bed. In the video, Gurucharan expressed that he was feeling quite unwell and provided a view of his hospital room, including a shot of his hand with a cannula attached.

The actor was dressed in a yellow and blue shirt and was wrapped in a shawl. He began the video by stating, "Haalat bohot zaada kharab ho gayi hai (My condition has gotten worse)." He also extended his wishes to his fans for Gurpurab. Gurucharan mentioned, "My blood tests have been done. I will update you about my health soon. Haalat dekho (See my condition)." However, he did not disclose the reason for his hospitalization.
