TRP: Geeta LLB tops the chart this week

The heinous rape and murder incident at RG Kar impacted the Bengali entertainment industry. A number of films were postponed and the films that were released did poorly at the box office. Bengali serials also bore the brunt of the incident. Amid this, the TRP list of the previous week was out. Star Jalsha’s Geeta LLB has a track on female lead Geeta fighting for a rape victim topped the list with a whopping score of 7.3.
Traditional winner Phulki has been busy with Paramita’s wedding. The two lead characters, Rohit and Phulki, successfully marry off Angshuman and their widow sister-in-law. The serial ranked third with a score of 7.1. Srijan and Parna’s Neem Phuler Modhu dropped to 5th position with a 6.4 score. Parna’s whimsical decision to marry her boss Abhimanyu has not been accepted well. Both Neem Phguler Madhu and Phulki stream on Zee5 and are available on OTTplay Premium.
Geeta defeated Star Jalsha’s other serial, Katha, which stood second. Pratik Sen and Ratnapriya’s Udaan is in the fourth position. All the Star Jalsha serials stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
Despite increasing its score, Jagaddhatri failed to manage its position in the top five. Meanwhile, Roshnai and Kon Gopone Mon Bheseche — two slip-competing serials — jointly secured the seventh position. Tej and Sudha’s romance could not help Shubho Bibaho much.
On the other hand, Anuraager Chhowa came back on the list after ages. This Dibyojyoti and Swastika’s serial ranked 10th this week. Ditipriya Roy will soon join the serial. Two Zee Bangla serials – Mithijhora and Malabodol — have been running for 45 minutes. In the afternoon, the brand new serials of Zee Bangla — Kajal Nodir Jole and Amar Sangi — have been failing to compete with Jalsha’s age-old saga, Badhuboron. Some are blaming the early stream of the shows on the respective OTTs as one of the reasons for poor TRP.
