Just a few days after the character ACP Pradyuman, portrayed by Shivaji Satam in CID, was killed off, it seems the show's team is planning to bring him back. According to a report from the Times of India, Shivaji is set to return "in a few weeks." Recently, Parth Samthaan mentioned that he would be stepping in as the new ACP Pradyuman on the show.

Is ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam, making a comeback to CID?

Last week, the CID team faced backlash from fans after they killed off ACP Pradyuman. However, a source close to the production revealed to the Times of India, “ACP Pradyuman is a legendary character and he can’t be gone for good. Shivaji Satam will return to the show in a few weeks.”

The source also mentioned that Parth Samthaan, who recently joined the cast, will be filming for a limited time. They noted that the show's creators have a history of killing off characters only to bring them back, so these kinds of plot twists are quite common. Shivaji is expected to start filming again by next week. He has portrayed ACP Pradyuman since the show first aired in 1998.

The way ACP Pradyuman met his end in CID

In a recent CID episode, the team attempted to apprehend the criminal Barboza (played by Tigmanshu Dhulia). However, he managed to ensnare the ACP and appeared to kill him in an explosion, although the actual death wasn't depicted on screen.

Sony TV later confirmed his demise through a social media post. They shared a tribute photo of ACP Pradyuman on Instagram, captioning it, "In the loving memory of ACP Pradyuman… A loss that will never be forgotten." The image also featured the phrase, "End of an era," marking ACP Pradyuman's journey from 1998 to 2025.

What Shivaji mentioned earlier regarding the death of his character

Shivaji later discussed his character's potential death with Bombay Times, saying, "I really have no idea about that. I've taken a break for a bit, and the creators are aware of what’s coming next in the show. I've learned to roll with the punches, so if my storyline wraps up, I'm fine with it. But I haven't been informed if that's the case! Right now, I'm not filming for the show."
