TV actor Gurucharan Singh, widely recognized for his portrayal of Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was admitted to the hospital on January 7, where his condition was reported as critical. His friend, Bhakti Soni, disclosed that the actor had ceased to eat since his return home in May 2024. Nevertheless, in a conversation with Times Entertainment, she mentioned that after she arranged a brand deal for him, the actor consented to resume eating.

Gurucharan Singh breaks his fast

The actor's friend Bhakti provided insights into his decision to end his fast, mentioning, “I secured a brand deal valued at ₹13 lakh for Gurucharan Singh, which has been awarded to him. Following this, he consented to conclude his fast. He is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai by the end of the month for the shoot.” Nevertheless, she conveyed her dissatisfaction regarding the lack of financial support for the actor, given his precarious situation.

TMKOC team did not offer financial support

She also mentioned that the public relations team of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah inquired about Gurucharan Singh’s health but failed to provide any financial assistance. She stated, “No one inquired if he required any financial support.” Furthermore, she highlighted that the actor's primary need was employment, and she successfully facilitated his return to work.

Previously, Bhakti disclosed that Gurucharan had refrained from consuming water for almost 19 days, resulting in significant weakness and loss of consciousness, which ultimately necessitated his hospitalization.

Gurucharan expresses gratitude

Four days prior, the actor utilized Instagram to convey his appreciation to fans who offered prayers for his recovery, as well as to those who provided support during this difficult period. He stated, “I wish to share that I had a goal to raise ₹13 lakh, and I am pleased to announce that this goal has been achieved. I extend my gratitude to everyone who contributed to this success. I will be visiting the Gurudwara shortly and look forward to meeting you all soon. Together, we will embark on a new chapter.”
