The inaugural season of CID enjoyed an impressive run of nearly two decades on air. Following its conclusion, the series has now re-emerged with its second season on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV. Notably, CID 2 has also secured a place on another major OTT platform.

Netflix has officially announced the premiere of CID 2 on its platform. The streaming service released a video showcasing highlights from the action-filled new season. The first 18 episodes are currently available for streaming, with new episodes of CID 2 set to be released every weekend at 10 PM.

The streamer announced the exciting news on Instagram, stating: "Do you understand this, Daya? CID is now available on Netflix, and new episodes can be watched every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM! (sic)." While it has premiered on Netflix, CID 2 remains accessible on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium.

For those who may not know, Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava have returned to their roles as ACP Pradyuman, Inspector Daya, and Inspector Abhijeet in the latest season.

Dayanand Shetty on shooting for CID 2

Prior to the airing of CID Season 2, Dayanand Shetty discussed his experiences during the filming of the new season. In an interview with the Times of India, the actor remarked, "We have commenced shooting for CID, and while it has been demanding, it is also exhilarating as the entire team has reunited after a six-year hiatus. We did not anticipate the return of a second season, but viewers have been revisiting old episodes and expressing their desire for the show to return."
