The television show Anupamaa has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons for a few months now. The lead actress Rupali Ganguly came under the spotlight when her stepdaughter made various allegations about her personal life. Besides this, the show is also in the spotlight as multiple actors exit the show. Now, Gaurav Khanna, who played the character of Anuj Kapadia has also left the show and also addressed his fallout with Rupali Ganguly.

Gaurav Khanna on quitting Anupamaa

When Anupamaa saw the 15-year leap time in October, several key characters including Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, Paras Kalnawat, and Nidhi Shah quit the show. However, Gaurav Khanna's exit from the show remained a mystery as he has been off the set for about two months.

Now, Gaurav told Etimes that he has been asked about his return to Anupamaa and he has also discussed the possibility of his grand re-entry to show show with the producer which they tried to materialise for two months. "However, the storyline had to progress, and waiting no longer made sense. He, too, felt it was time for me to explore something bigger. So, for now, Anuj’s chapter is closed, but I see it as a comma, not a full stop. If the story demands and my schedule allows, I’d be happy to return," the actor added.

Further, talking about the rumours of a rift between him and the lead actress Rupali Ganguly, he said, “I don’t engage in retaliatory interviews or respond to rumours. What matters is the work we’ve created together. I’ve always focused on my craft, and what happens beyond the ‘action’ and ‘cut’ is secondary."

Meanwhile, Anupamaa is one of the most-watched Television shows. When Gaurav Khanna made an entry as Anuj, viewers loved his character and appreciated his chemistry with Rupali's Anupamaa.
