According to the news agency PTI, the local authorities have devised special measures to manage traffic on all routes leading to the fair area, with the 'no-vehicle zone' already in effect since 0400 hours on Tuesday, February 11. The entire city will be subject to this directive starting at 1700 hours, with exceptions made only for emergency vehicles and those engaged in essential services.

If you are driving to Prayagraj, be prepared to park your vehicle well outside the city limits on Tuesday and Wednesday. Designated parking areas have been established for both public and private vehicles, and attendees will need to proceed to the bathing ghats on foot.

While flying or taking the train remains the most efficient means of reaching the world's largest religious gathering, driving to the location has its own set of challenges.

Over the weekend, traffic congestion extending approximately 300 kilometers was reported on various state and national highways, leading authorities to advise motorists to turn back. Numerous videos shared on social media depicted thousands of vehicles stuck in a gridlock.

Authorities are taking comprehensive measures in preparation for Maghi Purnima, which signifies the conclusion of the Kalpvas period. Kalpvas is a tradition involving residing near a sacred river for a designated duration. According to reports from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, there has been a notable increase in the number of devotees arriving in Prayagraj over the past week. In addition to public transportation, a significant influx of private vehicles is also anticipated, with numbers expected to escalate further on Maghi Purnima. He emphasized the necessity of implementing a well-organized traffic and crowd management strategy in response to this situation.
