Vivo has officially announced the forthcoming release of its V50 smartphone in India. This new device will succeed the V40, which debuted in August 2024. The official Vivo website has offered a preliminary glimpse of the V50's design and colour selections, indicating its imminent launch. Although some key specifications, such as the processor and charging capabilities, have yet to be revealed, the website provides an initial overview of its aesthetics and features.

The design of the Vivo V50 bears resemblance to its predecessor, albeit with several significant modifications. The smartphone now showcases a more rounded profile, and its display has evolved from a dual-curved edge panel to a quad-curved panel, which means the display curves along all four edges rather than just the left and right. Furthermore, the Vivo V50 boasts an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, marking an enhancement over the earlier model.

The Vivo V50 will be offered in three colour variants: Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey. According to 91Mobiles, the anticipated launch date is February 17.

Vivo V50: Key Specifications, Camera and Battery Details

The rear design of the Vivo V50 continues to showcase the distinctive keyhole-shaped camera module, which accommodates two cameras. According to information available on Vivo's official website, all three cameras—comprising the front-facing and primary cameras—will be equipped with 50MP sensors. Specifically, this includes a 50MP front-facing camera, a 50MP primary camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Furthermore, the device will feature an upgraded version of Vivo's Aura Light technology, which will be larger compared to previous iterations.

Anticipated specifications for the smartphone include a robust 6,000mAh battery and the Funtouch OS 15 operating system, which incorporates various AI and camera improvements first seen in Vivo's flagship device, the Vivo X200 Pro. However, details regarding the processor and charging capabilities remain undisclosed. Earlier reports have indicated that the Vivo V50 may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, although this information has yet to be officially verified. The smartphone is projected to be unveiled in India on February 17, 2025.
