Unlocking WhatsApp's New Feature: Instant Document Scanning for iPhone Users
2 months ago | 5 Views
WhatsApp is undeniably the most widely used instant messaging application globally, with billions of users relying on it for their everyday communication needs. The platform facilitates the sending of messages, sharing of photos, and distribution of documents, among other functionalities. To enhance user experience, the app consistently integrates new features. In its most recent update, Meta has unveiled an innovative feature that enables users to scan documents directly within the application, simplifying the process of sharing documents while on the move.
This feature has been accessible for a few days, and after conducting tests, we are prepared to guide you on how to utilize it. However, it is important to note that this functionality is currently exclusive to iPhone users; while Android users can send documents, they are unable to scan them.
Here's how you can use it on your iPhone:
To initiate a WhatsApp chat on your iPhone, begin by tapping the plus icon located in the bottom left corner of the screen. You will then observe a document icon; please tap on it. At this point, you will be presented with three options: "Choose from files," "Choose photo or video," and the final option, "Scan Document." Select "Scan Document."Align the document for scanning, and depending on whether you are using auto or manual mode, you can efficiently scan the documents. After completing the scan, tap "Save." WhatsApp will subsequently save the file in PDF format. You have the option to include a caption before sending the file, which will be transmitted as a scanned PDF document.
Why is this useful?
To scan a document on an iPhone, users traditionally navigate to the Files app to perform the scan, followed by opening WhatsApp to attach the document for sharing in chats. This involves several steps. However, with WhatsApp's recent enhancement allowing users to scan documents directly within the app, this multi-step procedure has been streamlined, significantly expediting the process. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals who frequently scan and send documents, as it saves valuable time.
