Qualcomm plans to introduce its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 System on Chip (SoC) in April 2025. This new chip, which follows the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, has been the focus of various leaks that have revealed additional details about its capabilities. While early speculation referred to the chip as Snapdragon 8s Elite, recent information indicates that it will be officially designated as Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Core Configuration and Performance

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is expected to feature a core configuration of 1+3+2+2. It will include a high-performance 3.21GHz Cortex-X4 core, complemented by three 3.01GHz Cortex-A720 cores for added power, two 2.80GHz Cortex-A720 cores to assist with processing tasks, and two 2.02GHz Cortex-A720 cores aimed at improving efficiency. This arrangement distinguishes it from the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which utilizes custom Oryon cores.

In terms of graphics, the chip will be equipped with the Adreno 825 GPU. Although it belongs to the same generation as the Adreno 830 GPU found in the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it will have a reduced number of cores. Nevertheless, reports indicate that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is expected to provide robust performance, with a projected AnTuTu benchmark score surpassing 2 million. Additionally, it is anticipated to include 6MB of SLC and 8MB of L3 cache, which will further enhance its speed and efficiency.

Devices Expected to Feature the Chip

Devices equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 are anticipated to be released soon following its official announcement. Initial contenders include the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which might also be introduced globally under the Poco F7 name. Additionally, other models such as Xiaomi's Civi 5 Pro and Oppo's K13 Pro are likely to incorporate the new chipset.
