For Android users, the app has evolved into an AI assistant, and with Gemini Live, users can engage in voice conversations with a chatbot. Google is now enhancing its fundamental features, enabling users to make phone calls and send text messages through voice commands. The Gemini application will now have the capability to make calls

Google has announced the rollout of new features for the Gemini app, enabling the application or mobile assistant to make calls or send messages even when the phone remains unlocked. To facilitate this capability, Google has introduced a new Phone extension for Android devices, which allows the Gemini app to initiate calls directly from the smartphone's calling application to your contacts, businesses, and phone numbers.

To activate this feature, open the Gemini app and select your profile. Navigate to the app's Settings and choose the option for Gemini on the lock screen. You can then enable the feature that allows making calls and sending messages without unlocking the device. Subsequently, you can long-press the power button to activate the Gemini app and issue the command "Gemini, call." The app will search for the specified contact or business and proceed to make the call. It is important to note that this feature is not yet widely available and is still in the process of being rolled out to users. Therefore, ensure that the app is updated to the latest version to utilize this functionality.
