Among the major global streaming services, Apple TV+ had been the only one yet to launch in India. The platform has been producing content that garners both attention and acclaim in the United States, and it has also expanded its reach to various other regions. However, its entry into the Indian market was postponed, and even after its launch, its presence remained limited. Now, it has broadened its availability through Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Prime Video launches Apple TV+ in India

Starting Wednesday, April 2, Apple TV+ will be accessible in India as an add-on subscription through Prime Video. A press release from Prime Video India announced that users can subscribe to Apple TV+ for ₹99 per month, in addition to their existing Amazon Prime membership. Previously, Amazon has brought other platforms to India using a similar add-on model, including Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, BBC Player, MGM+, Sony Pictures, and several others.

“We're thrilled to expand the availability of Apple TV+ on Prime Video with today's launch in India, providing Prime Video customers with an even wider array of TV shows and films, all within a single app,” stated Kelly Day, Vice President of International, Prime Video.

What all can you watch

This means that the complete Apple TV+ library will now be accessible to viewers in India. Audiences can enjoy heartwarming comedies such as Ted Lasso and Shrinking, gripping dramas like Severance, The Morning Show, Slow Horses, and Disclaimer, as well as epic sci-fi series like Silo, along with popular films like Wolfs and The Gorge. Apple TV+ has already been available as an add-on subscription through Prime Video in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and various regions in Europe and Latin America.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, stated, “We are excited to introduce the option for viewers in India to subscribe to Apple TV+ through Prime Video, as audiences have greatly appreciated this feature. Our goal is to provide access to Apple TV+ and its acclaimed collection of series and films created by the finest storytellers globally.”
