Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh showcased his remarkable skills on Saturday by executing an extraordinary catch during the match between India Masters and Sri Lanka Masters in the 2025 International Masters League (IML) held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The impressive moment occurred in the eighth over when Lahiru Thirimanne attempted to strike a length ball outside off from Irfan Pathan. Aiming for a six over the long-on boundary, the left-handed batsman misjudged the shot. Positioned perfectly in that area, Yuvraj defied the passage of time, timing his leap impeccably to secure a breathtaking catch.

Sara, the daughter of Sachin Tendulkar, who was present at the venue, expressed her admiration for the 43-year-old's remarkable effort by applauding from the stands.

Sachin collides with Ambati Rayudu

In another incident during the 13th over of Sri Lanka's pursuit of 223 runs, Ashan Priyanjan edged a delivery from Vinay Kumar, sending the ball high into the air. Wicketkeeper Ambati Rayudu and Sachin Tendulkar both raced to catch it. India was fortunate to claim that wicket, as Sachin managed to secure the catch but collided with Rayudu, resulting in both players falling to the ground. Thankfully, neither player sustained any injuries, and they shared a light-hearted moment as Rayudu remained on the ground.

India ultimately triumphed with a narrow four-run victory over Sri Lanka, marking a successful start to their campaign. Stuart Binny emerged as the standout performer for India, scoring 68 runs off 31 balls.

"It feels fabulous. It's always a wonderful experience to step onto the field. This stadium has been exceptional, and the atmosphere was electric. I extend my gratitude to everyone for their support of cricket," stated captain Sachin following the victory. "Winning secures the points for us. They formed some crucial partnerships, but our bowlers responded at the right moments. Mithun delivered an outstanding final over, and Irfan bowled exceptionally well in the middle overs. Binny's batting was impressive, and Yusuf played a remarkable innings."

India's next challenge will be against England Masters on Tuesday.
