'Aap Dono Baatein Karo, Tab Tak Main...': Jadeja Hilariously Interrupts KL Rahul & Virat Kohli for Wasting Time
9 days ago | 5 Views
Virat Kohli and KL Rahul established a significant partnership for India, contributing 47 runs and playing an essential role in guiding the team to victory. Interestingly, before their batting efforts, Rahul and Kohli had engaged in another, albeit brief, partnership that did not sit well with Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian all-rounder was in the midst of his over, known for his remarkably swift pace. Typically, Jadeja completes an over in 50 to 60 seconds, and in the case of a maiden over, this duration can occasionally be reduced to around 45 seconds.
As India applied pressure on the Australian batsmen, making it challenging for them to score runs, Jadeja was efficiently delivering his overs. However, during one of these overs, Kohli and Rahul began discussing whether the bowler might consider a different approach. Jadeja promptly curtailed their brief exchange with a succinct remark that was effectively captured by the stump microphone.
Here's how the conversation panned out:
KL Rahul: It is not turning significantly.
Virat Kohli from the covers: Brother, three balls are remaining. Consider taking a slip. One might turn.
KL Rahul to Kohli: Only one ball has turned so far.
Ravindra Jadeja: You both continue your discussion; I will bowl the last three deliveries in the meantime.

Shortly thereafter, Jadeja took decisive action, breaking the partnership between Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne at a total of 56 runs. Labuschagne was dismissed LBW, having been caught on the back foot as Jadeja provided India with a crucial breakthrough. This was soon followed by Jadeja's dismissal of Josh Inglis, who had scored a century in the previous match against England, as he edged the ball directly to Kohli at cover.
"The pitch is an improvement over the last match, with minimal spin. We must commence strongly. If we play sensible cricket during the first 10 overs, we should encounter no difficulties. Smith and Labuschagne were performing well, and I aimed to target the stumps. Fortunately, we managed to restrict the runs and secured a few wickets as well," Jadeja remarked after Australia was bowled out for 264.
In this match, Jadeja emerged as India's second-most effective bowler, concluding with figures of 2/40, trailing behind Mohammed Shami's 3/48. However, beyond the wickets taken, Jadeja's true effectiveness was evident in the disciplined lines and lengths he maintained. Out of the first 86 deliveries faced by Australia, 53 were dot balls, a statistic that increased as Jadeja and Axar Patel efficiently completed their overs.
