Yashasvi Jaiswal, who distinguished himself as the standout Indian batter during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, has declared his availability for Mumbai's forthcoming Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir scheduled for January 23. The left-handed batsman emerged as the top run-scorer for India in the five-match Test series against Australia, accumulating 391 runs at an average of 43.44.

Sources from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) have confirmed to Hindustan Times that Jaiswal has already communicated his availability to the management and head coach Omkar Salvi for the upcoming Ranji Trophy encounter.

The selection committee is expected to finalize the Mumbai team by the end of this week. It is noteworthy that Jaiswal is not included in India's T20 squad for the upcoming five-match series against England.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal has confirmed his availability for the match against Jammu and Kashmir. The selection committee will convene by the end of this week to finalize the squad," stated an MCA source.

Conversely, Sarfaraz Khan has sustained a rib injury, rendering him unavailable for the Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. "Sarfaraz has injured his ribs and has notified us of his unavailability for the next Ranji Trophy match," the MCA source added.

Lot of focus on domestic cricket

On Tuesday, Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, was observed training with the Mumbai team at Wankhede Stadium. It remains uncertain whether he will participate in the upcoming Ranji Trophy match.

Should Rohit choose to compete against Jammu and Kashmir, Mumbai could present a formidable lineup featuring Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, and Shardul Thakur.

Following the defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, attention has shifted to the next round of the Ranji Trophy. Shubman Gill has confirmed his availability for Punjab's Ranji match against Karnataka.

Additionally, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been included in the list of probables for Delhi in the forthcoming Ranji Trophy round. However, it is unclear if they will be available for the match.
