India achieved a remarkable 3-0 victory over England in the ODI series, concluding with a dominant performance in the final match, where they secured a substantial 142-run win. Captain Rohit Sharma, while discussing the team's strategy and preparations for the forthcoming Champions Trophy, emphasized that the players have the freedom to express themselves on the field, acknowledging that occasional setbacks are a natural aspect of the game.

"There is a degree of freedom within the team to approach the game in your style. The World Cup (2023) exemplified this approach. We aim to maintain this mindset. There will be instances when things do not go as planned, but that is acceptable," Rohit remarked during the post-match presentation.

The team's aggressive strategy was evident throughout the series, as India consistently put pressure on England's bowlers. In the final ODI held in Ahmedabad, Shubman Gill spearheaded the innings with an impressive 112 runs, complemented by Virat Kohli's 52 and Shreyas Iyer's rapid 78. Their efforts enabled India to set a daunting target of 356 runs before dismissing England for a low score.

As the Champions Trophy approaches, commencing on February 19, Rohit refrained from disclosing specific strategies but suggested that there is a well-defined plan in place for the tournament. "Naturally, there are particular aspects we are considering, and I will not elaborate on those. It is also our responsibility to maintain consistency within the team, and our communication remains clear," he noted.

Gill was named Player of the Series

Shubman Gill recognized as both Player of the Match and Player of the Series, attributed his success to a measured strategy on a challenging pitch.

"I felt confident during my innings. I believe this was one of my stronger performances. The pitch posed some difficulties initially, making the achievement all the more rewarding. There was assistance for the fast bowlers, with the ball seaming. Our focus was on rotating the strike and preserving wickets during the Power Play, allowing us to build momentum and progress from that point," Gill elaborated.
