Dimaag Kidhar Hai Tera?": Rohit Sharma Blasts Harshit Rana After Costly Overthrow

1 month ago | 5 Views

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Team India, lost his temper with young Harshit Rana during the second ODI against England at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Known for his expressive reactions, Rohit was really frustrated with Rana's erratic throw while bowling, which ended up going for a four.

It all went down on the fifth ball of the 32nd over. Rana had already put Jos Buttler under pressure with four consecutive dot balls and was close to making it five. Buttler defended the ball right back to Rana, but instead of staying put, he charged for a run-out attempt and completely missed with a wild throw.

Rohit was clearly not happy with Harshit's mistake and let him know, asking, “Dimaag kidhar hai tera? (Where is your brain?)”

Graeme Swann, the former England captain who was commentating during the incident, pointed out that Rana let his aggression take over.

"Want to really annoy your captain? This is how you do it. Just keep your cool. I mentioned earlier how aggressive he can be. He’s a classic fast bowler, but sadly, his aggression got the best of him, leading to four overthrows from his own bowling," Swann remarked.

Ravi Shastri, the ex-India head coach, chimed in, saying, “I could see the captain was furious. It’s these little mistakes that can relieve the pressure.”

Virat Kohli is back in India's lineup

England's captain Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to bat first against India, who have welcomed back Virat Kohli, in the second ODI taking place in Cuttack on Sunday.

The visiting team, down 1-0 in the three-match series, made three changes to their lineup.

Fast bowlers Mark Wood and Gus Atkinson, along with all-rounder Jamie Overton, are back in action, aiming to keep their hopes alive in the series.

On the Indian side, there are two changes: Kohli returns after missing the first match due to a sore right knee, and debutant spinner Varun Chakravarthy steps in for Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kuldeep Yadav.

Chakravarthy, 33, has been a standout bowler for India, taking 14 wickets in the recent T20 series, which India won 4-1. He also becomes the oldest ODI debutant for India since Farokh Engineer, who debuted against England in 1974 at the age of 36.
