WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: As expected, the rumours were true. Roman Reigns ended his absence from the WWE and made a triumphant return, with an updated them. And the fact that he went after his cousin makes it that The Bloodline is his next target. Triple H said post WrestleMania that Roman is going to be heading towards a whole new, never-before-seen direction in his story-telling, a glimpse of which the world saw today. Rest assured, this Saturday is going to be quite something as Reigns comes face-to-face with his cousins.

What a SummerSlam this has been. The Judgment Day imploded and 4 different champions were crowned - Gunther, Nia Jax, LA Knight and Bron Breakker. Dominik Mysterio betrayed Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor stabbed Damian Priest in the back. Oh what storytelling. An exciting weeks awaits, starting with Monday Night Raw tomorrow.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: More interruptions. Cody had Solo Sikoa beat. He had connected with 2 Cross-Rhodes but just as Rhodes was going for a third - the same way he beat Roman Reigns - Jacob Fatu emerged out of nowhere to assault Cody.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Arn Anderson told Cody Rhodes that two of his friends are on the way. And back-up has arrived in the form of Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. The two negate the Tonga brothers threat with a few RKOs and Stunners. Orton and Owens take Toma Tonga and Tonga Lowa out through the crowd to turn the contest back into a one-on-one affair.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Here we go. Solo Sikoa gets some help from Tama Tonga and Tonga Lowa. Cody hit the Cross Rhodes and immediately got attacked by Solo’s cousins. As they beat down Cody, it gives Solo time to recover. Sikoa goes for the pinfall but Cody has enough gas to kick out at 2.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Finally an opening for Cody, who uses his quickness to climb up the top rope and land the Superplex on Solo Sikoa. The new ‘Tribal Chief’ is feeling the effects of it. Now both competitors exchanging punches. Cody rallies and hits the Cross Rhodes.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: This version of Solo is proving extremely tough for Cody to get in control of. All that muscle has ensured Solo keeps Rhodes in the ground. A couple of offences every now and then for Cody but nothing long-term. Rhodes hits the bionic elbow, but his charge is very short-lived. Solo regains control with a Samoan Drop.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Expect a long, free-flowing technical matchup play out. A very grapple-ish start to the match with both Cody and Solo trying to outdo each other and get the upper hand. But neither has been able to do so thus far. Back-and-forth action but you’ve got to be impressed with Solo, who seems to have done his homework on Cody as he is alert to whatever The American Nightmare has to throw at him.

They trash-talked their way, not even sparing Jelly Roll in attendance, who then got up and along with The Miz and Truth, laid out the interrupters. Jelly Roll chokeslammed Theory and landed the Five Knuckle Shuffle to deliver a pretty cool moment to be honest.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: It’s happened! The Judgment Day has imploded. Thanks to Finn Balor, Gunther puts Damian Priest to sleep and is crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion. Priest kicked out of the first sleeper hold but as he went to attack Balor and lost his focus on Gunther, it allowed the Ring General to hit Priest with the Powerbomb and apply another sleeper to win. It’s all fallen apart.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: This can’t be true. After Dominik, it’s Balor who stabbed his Judgment Day member. Priest had the match won following a South of Heaven but Balor, out of nowhere, picked Gunther's leg and placed it on the bottom rope to force the break in count. Presit cannot believe it.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Damian Priest particularly asked Finn Balor to stay out of his business, but he decided to come out to assist his Judgment Day teammate anyway. But since Gunther kicked Balor, it spurred Priest. The look in his eyes is bad news for Gunther, who gets clobbered by the heavyweight champion.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: It’s not often that you see Gunther laid flat in his back, but Priest has managed to do so. Tries to keep the pressure on by connecting with the South of Heaven, Priest’s version of the Chokeslam but Gunther kicks out. The ‘This is Awesome’ chants break out and it’s hard to disagree with the fans. Gunther now goes full-blown on Priest laying him out with a couple of hard-hitting clotheslines.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: When you’re in the ring with Gunther, better watch out for your best as them merciless chops will leave a mark – literally. While Gunther is relying on his chops, Priest falls back on his MMA-styled background. Jeez! The impact of Priest's chops are such that they have busted open Gunther's chest. Incredible hitting. Back and forth exchanges of chops.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: The world heavyweight title match begins on a physical note as Damian Priest tries to take down Gunther outside the ring. The words ‘street trash’ which Gunther has used to target Priest given his tough past has gotten in the minds of the current champion. But the fact that Priest has been a top guy makes nothing close to what he used to do in the past.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Drew McIntyre has done it. He beats CM Punk. An irate Punk hit Rollins with the GTS, which cost him eventually. McIntyre blindsided Punk with the lowbrow and then a second Claymore Kick. As he had Punk’s leg hooked, Rollins came to his consciousness and counted the pinfall. More than McIntyre winning, it’s Punk who’s lost this match.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: CM Punk has to get his mind back in the game here. He had McIntyre up for the GTS but let him go again. Why? Because he saw the bracelet back on Rollins’ wrist, who picked it up from the mat. McIntyre comes from behind and knocks both Rollins and Punk out. Punk finally hits the GTS but since Rollins was knockout out, there was no one to count the 1, 2, 3.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Punk almost commits suicide. He had McIntyre in the Anaconda Vice but let it go midway when he saw the Larry bracelet on McIntyre’s wrist. This gives McIntyre the opportunity to regroup and connect with the Claymore Kick. Thankfully for Punk, he kicks out at 2 but would be aware of the mistake he committed.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Drew tries to hit Punk with a steel chair but Seth intervenes. After McIntyre shoves Seth, Rollins attempts to hit him with the steel chair but he ducks. Rollins’ chair almost connects with Punk but he pauses at the right time. It allows McIntyre time to recover but Punk rolls him into the pinball. However, there was no count as Rollins tried to get his mind into the game, trying to be neutral.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Drew has been in the ascendancy here ever since sweeping Punk on the apron. He is dissecting, dismantling Pant’s offence, especially since spring boarding him underneath the ring. Rollins has nothing to do with it at the moment. He is more than happy and willing to let these two men tear each other apart. This match is under normal rules but pretty sure the toys, as the legendary JPL put it, will be out soon.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: The match begins with both Punk and McIntyre exchanging punches. Punk has McIntyre down in the corner and continues to assault him with a series of kicks before Seth Rollins breaks up. Legit involvement since he interrupts the 5-count. Does the same to McIntyre moments later. Punk and McIntyre quickly go to the outside and be physically brutal with each other. Meanwhile, drip god Rollins is having fun. He isn’t even counting up to 10. Hey Seth! That’s exactly how casual we want this to be.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: The iconic sight returns! Punk, cladded in a hoodie, pink shorts and boots, walks out as the entire stadium sings Cult of Personality. He has a 4-4 record at SummerSlam. And what a history he has with this city. It was here that Punk, in 2014, walked out of the company and left gone for 10 long years. He wowed never to come back. That’s how bad the relations between him and the WWE had gotten. But things have mended for the better and CM Punk is back at the top of professional wrestling.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Here we go! The match we had all been waiting for - CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre. There is also a third individual involved in the contest who is serving as the special guest referee and that’s Seth Rollins, someone who hates both of these men - Punk and McIntyre equally. Rollins and McIntyre are out. Get ready for the area to explode as Living Colours’ ‘Cult of Personality’ is about to hit anytime now as Punk set to walk out for his first televised singles WWE match in 11 years.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Tiffany Straton came rushing by threatening to make this into a triple threat match. An alert Bayley knocked her out of the ring but the distraction allowed Nia Jax to break the door in. A cheap shot on the back followed by back-to-back Annihilators marked the end of Bayley’s near 200-day reign as champion and gives Nia her second title.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Nia plants the Samoan Drop on Bayley outside the ring but the offence is short lived. The champions regroups and used all her strength to plan Nia with a Powerbomb. Follows it with a flying elbow but a kickout.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Nia Tax delivered her best shot - the Annihilator from the top rope - but it still wasn’t enough to keep the champion down. Just as the referee’s hand was coming down for the three, Bayley got her shoulder up. Neither Nia nor the referee could believe it. Nia tries to slap some sense into Bayley and trash talk along the way but it costs her as she runs into the steel post.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Nia had Bayley locked into the Guillotine, the move she used to put Nia to sleep at NXT eight years ago in 2016. But Nia is a lot stronger now and walks her way out of the hold. But the comeback is short-lived. Bayley on the offence again, lands the Bayley to Belly only for a kickout.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Bayley vs Nia has been a bit of a struggle until now. It’s mostly been advantage Jax, but Bayley with the occasional counters, has been able to stay alive in the match. As the action spills outside the ring, Bayley used the steep steps to jump on to Nia Jax, roll her inside the floor. But as the champion tried to climb the top rope, Max gets up and thwarts her plans.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Nia Jax, the recently-crowned Queen of the Ring, has a shot at winning her second women’s title but in front of her is Bayley, who has held on to the title for 180 days. This rivalry, as Cole said on air, is 10 years in the making. Bayley has mostly had the edge of Mia, but Max is at a better position in her career than ever before. Bayley is the first-ever women’s grand slam champion, and Nia would be aware that it’s going to take more than just physical strength to get the better of her.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Incredible finish! For a moment there, Logan Paul looked set to retain the title thanks to his shenanigans. He was slipped in the brass knuckle at ringside and even managed to hit Knight with it. But countering his finisher, Knight landed his and picked up the 1, 2 and 3 to win his first major singles championship. Congratulations to LA Knight. YEEAAAHHHH!

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: WOW! A thing of beauty. As Paul, perched on the top rope, tries to get Knight in position for a high-flying move, Knight climbs up the rope and lands a gnarly-looking Superplex off the top rope. Almost bone-jarring. Paul then goes up to his entourage ring side for some help but Knight takes them out.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: What in the world? With LA Knight groggy outside the ring, Logan Paul flies on to him with a reverse springboard leap. You have got to see it to believe it. Building on that stunner out of nowhere, Paul tries to KO Knight with the right hand. But it’s only a two count. Goes for the Frag Splash but misses. Knight misses his finisher too. Neither man giving an inch.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: LA Knight, in a typical babyface fashion, gets the early momentum but Logan negates it and keeps pounding on to the Megastar. Takes Knight a while but he finally regroups. Gets Paul into the corner and unleashes with a series of rights. He understands this is an opening he may ruin if wasted. Lands the running knee. Knight hits Logan a side effect and climbs on to the top rope. Does his signature L.A KNIGHT chant and drops the flying elbow. 1… 2… Kick Out!

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: After almost 7 minutes of action starting outside the ring - including a spot where Knight landed the neck-breaker on the announcer’s table, the bell finally rings. Just as Knight was about to enter the ring, a cheap show had him flying outside the ring and the two went at it at ringside. Back and forth action as the two call down the shots inside the ring.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Even before the match begins, LA Knight tries to get an early advantage. Arrives in the arena in Logan’s Prime vehicle and what’s worse… vandalises it by shoving a metal pipe through the blue tinted windows. LA Knight has had his moments in the WWE, getting over with the crowd, main eventing a PPV with Roman Reigns and teaming up with John Cena. The Megastar however is yet to win a major singles championship but that could change today.

She officially stepped down from her position in the company last year when Vince McMahon was on his way out of the company. She was last seen during WrestleMania and how has a front row seat at WWE’s biggest evening of the summer. Stephanie has had her bit of SummerSlam moments, including the one in 2015, when she beat Brie Bella in a one-on-one match.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Phew! What a crazy start that was. Heartbreak, betrayal and a make out! But now on to some more intense stuff as Sami Zayn faces his stiffest test as the IC Champion, squaring off against Bron Breakker. 31 years ago, Breakker's father and uncle – Rick and Scott Steiner competed here at SummerSlam (Thanks Michael Cole for this piece of information), and over three decades later, Breakker has the chance to follow their footsteps.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Holy hell! Dominik shocks the world as he helps Liv Morgan get back up on her feet and kisses her, leaving MAMI heartbroken and screaming in the ring. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee do not hold back and make their feelings clear in front of the world. First he betrayed his father and now the girl who was in love with him. Dominik must be the most hated and envious man in the world right now all at once.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Dominik almost costs Ripley her chance at getting the title back. Morgan got the chair back in the ring but after hitting her with the riptide, Ripley wants to even the odds. Dom however pulls the chair off her hand, telling her to not waste time and just pin her. But Morgan cashes in on the opportunity and lands The Oblivion only for Ripley to kick off.

What more, as Rhea tries to gather herself up, Dom distracts the referee, allowing Morgan to hit the Oblivion again – this time on the chair. Ripley knocked out, Liv lands the pinfall and picks up the win.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: A modified version of the Texas Cloverleaf submission, Ripley has Morgan at her mercy. Only momentarily though as the champions works a way out of it. Morgan tries to lock the arm bar on Ripley and although she doesn't get a hold of it entirely, it's proving out to be just about enough to keep Ripley on the mat.

But what insane power this is from Ripley, who gathers the strength, literally on one arm and plants Morgan on the mat. Then has the trash talk but it works against her with Morgan hitting Ripley with the headbutt.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: As Dom trues to get a closer look at Rhea’s shoulders, Morgan tried to jump onto her opponent, putting in a dive from inside the ring to the outside. To protect Ripley, Dom pushed her aside and sacrifices himself. Meanwhile, Ripley does something only she is capable of. Thuds her shoulder on the commentary table to slot her shoulder right back into the socket. The crowd goes berserk and Morgan can’t believe it.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: Momentum shift in the match. Liv throws Rhea into the steel post and immediately upon the impact, damage seems to have been done. As Rhea wore a shocked look on her face, she told the referee 'It's Out', indicating that the injured shoulder may have gotten dislocated. Rhea insists she wants to continue. "Don't stop it," she tells the referee as Morgan continues to pummel in that shoulder. Dom with a concerned look outside the ring.

The A-Lister may not have a match today, but as a host, he has had more than his fair share of moments, and today, starts off the evening with the Women's World Heavyweight Championship match. Once again, Rhea never lost the title but had to relinquish it due to a shoulder injury caused by Liv Morgan. While she was gone, Liv tried to steal Rhea's boy-toy Dominik. Dirty Dom almost fell for her before MAMI returned to set things straight. Just to you know, Dom will be ringside for this opener. Who will earn the bragging rights?

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Live Updates: What better way to kick off SummerSlam than to have Triple H, the King of Kings, open the show. The WWE business is booming, all thanks to this man. The WWE Head of Creative has been unstoppable and this being the first SummerSlam entire overseen by him, expect another cracker of a PLE. The Game asks Cleveland if they are ready and raises a Toast to Jelly Roll, who serenades the WWE Universe after starting off the event by singing 'America The Beautiful'.
