Virat Kohli's Frustration Boils Over: Kuldeep Yadav's Lapse Costs India a Crucial Wicket

The ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 final featuring India and New Zealand is turning out to be quite the rollercoaster, with the match shaping up to be an exciting showdown. In such a crucial game, every little detail counts, which is why Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli were visibly upset with spinner Kuldeep Yadav. His lack of urgency cost the team a straightforward wicket that could have helped Rohit Sharma and the squad.

If Kuldeep had been focused and on his game, India might have dismissed Michael Bracewell, securing their sixth wicket and putting more pressure on the BlackCaps.

This all went down on the second ball of the 41st over. Bracewell hit the ball towards backward point and took off for a single, but he ended up colliding with Daryl Mitchell. Jadeja scooped up the ball and aimed for a direct hit at the non-striker's end.

Unfortunately, the throw missed the stumps. Jadeja and Kohli were clearly frustrated with Kuldeep, and they didn’t hold back in showing it.

Meanwhile, former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop, who was commentating at the time, pointed out, "He didn’t even bother to get behind the stumps. They were right; he was just watching the ball."

Virat Kohli has lost his temper with Kuldeep Yadav before for not fielding the ball. Remember the semi-final against Australia? Both Kohli and Rohit Sharma were pretty upset with the Indian spinner for his mishandling.

Indian spinners put the squeeze on the Kiwi batters

New Zealand kicked things off strong after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Rachin Ravindra and Will Young teamed up for a solid 57-run opening partnership. But once the spinners came into play, the Kiwis found it tough to score in the middle overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel really put the brakes on the BlackCaps' scoring during that phase, allowing the Indian team to take control.

Kuldeep Yadav managed to snag the crucial wicket of Rachin Ravindra, which really slowed down the run rate.

Glenn Phillips tried to build a partnership with Daryl Mitchell, but Varun cut his innings short.

This marks India's third straight appearance in the Champions Trophy final, following their runs in 2013 and 2017.
