The cricket scene in the national capital has been vibrant since Thursday, marked by the highly anticipated return of Virat Kohli to the Ranji Trophy for Delhi. The Arun Jaitley Stadium, the venue for this exciting event, has been filled to capacity as fans gathered at Raj Ghat. On the second day of the match, spectators finally witnessed Kohli take to the crease, although before that, they were entertained by his doppelgänger.

Karan Kaushal, a devoted admirer of the Indian cricketer who bears a striking resemblance to him, was among the crowd. In an interview with ANI, he expressed his excitement, stating, “I am elated to be here today, and I have faith that Kohli will achieve a century. For the past decade, people have remarked on my likeness to him… I have maintained this beard for just three years… I believe he will adhere to the fundamentals, and we will be treated to his full repertoire of shots today.”

However, Kohli did not meet the expectations set by his lookalike, as Kaushal's prediction did not materialize. Kohli managed to score only six runs off 15 deliveries before being dismissed by pacer Himanshu Sangwan.

In addition, another individual resembling Kohli, who was present at the stadium, shared with ANI, “People often mistake me for Virat Kohli, and it is always an enjoyable experience. Beyond that, I am eagerly anticipating his signature cover drive today. I also believe that the participation of senior players in domestic cricket is vital, as it inspires younger players and enhances their overall performance.”

As reported by ESPNCricinfo, the first day of the match attracted 15,000 fans. During the Railways’ first innings, an enthusiastic supporter managed to bypass security and approached Kohli to touch his feet, prompting security personnel to intervene and escort the individual off the field.

Despite Kohli's lackluster performance with the bat, Delhi's captain Ayush Badoni showcased his skills with a commendable 99 runs off 77 balls. Delhi has already surpassed Railways’ first innings total of 241 and is establishing a significant lead.
