India's cricket sensation Virat Kohli just scored a huge reward for his incredible performance against Pakistan on Sunday during the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy. With the latest update to the ICC Men's Player Rankings, he’s back in the top five for ODI batters. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill is still holding down the number one position.

Kohli hit his 51st ODI century on Sunday, marking his fourth against Pakistan and his first in the Champions Trophy, helping India clinch a six-wicket victory and secure a spot in the semifinals. After his unbeaten 100, Kohli climbed one spot in the ODI rankings, now sitting at fifth place.

Three Indian batsmen are among the top five

Kohli's rise in the rankings means that three Indian batsmen are now in the top five of the ICC ODI batting rankings. Gill is leading the pack at No. 1, while captain Rohit Sharma holds the No. 3 spot, thanks to their solid performances in the ongoing ICC tournament.

Gill made headlines by scoring a century against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy opener, which helped him reclaim the No. 1 position from Pakistan's Babar Azam for the second time in his career. He now has a 47-point lead over Babar, who remains at No. 2 despite a rough start to the tournament. Rohit is close behind, just 13 points away from Babar.

Other notable changes in the batting rankings include New Zealand's Will Young, who jumped eight spots to 14th, and Tom Latham, who climbed 11 places to 30th after both scored centuries against Pakistan. Rachin Ravindra also made a significant leap, moving up 18 spots to 24th with his hundred against Bangladesh. Glenn Phillips, another Kiwi, improved his position by 12 places to 28th.

In the bowling rankings, Keshav Maharaj and Matt Henry have cracked the top five, while Adam Zampa has moved up to 10th after taking two wickets in a thrilling Group B match against England.
