zVirat Kohli, the star batter for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, had a heartwarming reunion with Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammed Siraj during a training session on Tuesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Siraj, who moved to Gujarat this season, returned to the place where he made a name for himself in the Indian Premier League. He spent seven years with RCB from 2018 to 2024, but the team decided not to retain him before the 2025 mega auction, a choice that left many RCB fans disappointed as they watched him evolve from a rookie to one of the top bowlers in the league.

Gujarat Titans acquired Siraj for an impressive INR 12.25 crore during the mega auction, and he proved his worth with a standout performance against the Mumbai Indians in his last game.

The 31-year-old traveled to Bengaluru with his Titans teammates for a big match against RCB, where he caught up with his former captain, Virat Kohli, whom he often refers to as his superhero.

RCB shared a video of their reunion on social media, showing Kohli embracing Siraj during training and chatting with him, which touched the hearts of fans on X. Siraj also took the time to greet other RCB members, demonstrating that there were no hard feelings towards his former team.

After playing one season for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2017, where he took 10 wickets in six matches, Siraj was purchased by RCB for ₹2.6 crore. He participated in 87 matches for them, securing 83 wickets at an average of 31. 45, with his best figures being 4/21.

Siraj expressed, "I don't feel like I'm part of a new team"

Recently, Siraj shared that putting on the Gujarat Titans jersey for the first time was a deeply emotional experience for him, especially after spending seven years with RCB.

"When I first donned the Gujarat Titans jersey, it hit me hard emotionally since I had been with RCB for seven years. But now, as a new season begins, I don’t feel like I’m on a different team. The vibe here is fantastic. Over the past two years, I’ve performed really well at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The pitch here is great for fast bowlers," Siraj mentioned in a video released by IPL.
