India's star cricketer Virat Kohli faced a challenging return to the field on Sunday during the second match of the three-match ODI series against England. After recovering from a knee injury that had sidelined him for the series opener, Kohli managed to score only five runs, continuing his recent struggles. Nevertheless, the 36-year-old became a topic of discussion on social media when a video surfaced of him playfully mimicking Suryakumar Yadav during the game.

This incident occurred in the second innings as India aimed to chase down a target of 305 runs at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Kohli was observed imitating the India T20I captain's "chewing gum" gesture, which elicited laughter from his teammates Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Arshdeep Singh.

Kohli's form is still a concern for India

India achieved another significant milestone on Sunday as captain Rohit Sharma made a triumphant return to form, scoring his 32nd career century. With an impressive display that included 12 boundaries and seven sixes, the 37-year-old amassed 119 runs off 90 balls, silencing critics just ahead of the Champions Trophy. Additionally, Varun Chakravarthy made his debut in this match, as the team continues to explore options in light of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Jasprit Bumrah's injury. The Tamil Nadu spinner delivered a commendable performance, taking 1 wicket for 54 runs in his 10 overs.

Nevertheless, Virat Kohli's performance remains a point of concern as the Champions Trophy approaches. He has struggled to regain his form since the T20 World Cup last year, and his difficulties in red-ball cricket were further highlighted by a disappointing return to the Ranji Trophy last month. The former captain, who dealt with a swollen knee last week, returned to ODI cricket on Sunday but was dismissed for a mere 5 runs off 8 balls, managing only a single boundary.
