Virat Kohli Celebrates with Dance as RCB Ends 17-Year Drought at CSK’s Fortress: ‘Win So Special’
8 days ago | 5 Views
Overcoming the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) stronghold at the MA Chidambaram Stadium has historically proven to be a formidable challenge for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). As they approached Match 8 of the IPL 2025 season, the team led by Ruturaj Gaikwad was considered the favorite. However, Rajat Patidar and his teammates achieved a remarkable feat by defeating the home team by 50 runs. This victory marks RCB's first win against Chennai in Chennai since 2008.
As anticipated, the RCB players, including Virat Kohli, were unable to contain their excitement, and the entire team celebrated exuberantly.
Kohli was spotted dancing to Humankind's 'Run It Up' in the dressing room, clearly thrilled with RCB's triumph over the five-time champions, CSK.
The festivities did not stop there; the celebration continued when the team arrived at their hotel, with Kohli once again seen enjoying the same song.
Other players, including Lungi Ngidi, Liam Livingstone, and Phil Salt, also joined in the dancing to share their joy.
The video of these celebrations was posted on RCB's official Instagram account, accompanied by the caption, "A win so special, it got King Kohli grooving. This team! The vibes! We’re loving it."
Kohli scores 31 runs against CSK
RCB scored 196 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs after being invited to bat first. The key contributors with the bat were Rajat Patidar, who made 51 runs off 32 balls, Phil Salt with 32 runs off 16 balls, and Tim David, who scored 22 runs off just 8 balls.
Virat Kohli had a disappointing performance, managing only 31 runs from 30 balls. Throughout most of his innings, he maintained a strike rate below 100, only improving his score after hitting a six and a four off Matheesha Pathirana's bowling.
RCB successfully defended their total, limiting CSK to 146 runs for 8 wickets. Josh Hazlewood was instrumental in disrupting the hosts' chase, taking the wickets of Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the second over.
Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone also contributed significantly, each claiming two wickets, leading RCB to a decisive victory. With this win, RCB has ascended to the top of the league standings.
