Virat Kohli Breaks Silence on Instagram Ad Wipe: “It Was Time for a Reset”
5 days ago | 5 Views
On April 9, 2025, Virat Kohli astonished his followers by eliminating all promotional content, paid partnerships, and advertisements from his Instagram feed, relocating them to the reels section. His fans appreciated this gesture, and Kohli later addressed the situation on April 15, 2025.
His 'posts' section, which serves as the main page for every Instagram profile, now exclusively showcases moments with his family, snippets of his workouts, and a few highlights from the ongoing IPL 2025 season, where he continues to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
This decision led to speculation regarding Kohli's intention to focus attention on his personal projects; however, the 36-year-old clarified that his Instagram account required a 'reset.'
In a recent video shared by RCB, Kohli was humorously questioned about whether his endorsement value had risen following his Champions Trophy win, to which he affirmed, 'Yes.'
When asked about his recent Instagram activities, Kohli elaborated, stating, 'I find myself in a very intriguing position with social media. At present, I am not inclined to engage extensively, but the future remains uncertain. Nonetheless, a reset was certainly necessary.'
Mr. Nags humorously continued the dialogue, inquiring if the clip, which he claimed lacked any brand collaboration, would be posted on Kohli's Instagram, but Kohli declined the suggestion.
Kohli in IPL 2025

In his most recent match against the Rajasthan Royals, Kohli achieved a significant milestone by scoring an unbeaten 65 runs off 33 balls, marking his 100th fifty in T20 cricket and making him the first Asian player to attain this feat. He currently ranks second on the all-time list for the most T20 fifties, trailing only Australia's David Warner, who has 108 fifties in 400 matches. This achievement also represents his 66th fifty in the T20 tournament, placing him on par with Warner.
