Virat Kohli, the star batter of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, went out of his way to connect with a female fan who had been sidelined by security, greatly enhancing her experience. Recently returned from Dubai following a successful Champions Trophy campaign, Kohli has rejoined the RCB camp in preparation for IPL 2025. On Saturday, he participated in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, where numerous fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the former RCB captain. One female admirer, who had brought a painting of him, was unfortunately restricted by security. Nevertheless, Kohli noticed her with the large artwork and approached her to sign an autograph.
The footage of this heartwarming moment quickly gained popularity on social media.
'I'm not making any retirement announcements'
Kohli, who significantly contributed to India's recent victory in the 50-overs Champions Trophy, stated that he is not planning to announce his retirement in the near future, as he is currently enjoying the game.
"My participation in the sport is not driven by the pursuit of accolades," Kohli remarked during the event.
"It fundamentally revolves around the sheer joy, enjoyment, and passion I have for the game. As long as that passion remains, I will continue to play. I must be truthful with myself about this. So, please do not worry; I am not making any announcements at this time, and everything is perfectly fine," he further explained.
In addition, the RCB star concluded IPL 2024 with the Orange Cap for the highest runs, amassing 741 runs at an average of 61.75 and an impressive strike rate of 154.69. His performance included one century and five half-centuries, along with an extraordinary 38 sixes. Kohli also holds the record for the most runs in IPL history, totaling 8,004 runs across 252 matches, with an average of 38.66 and a strike rate of 131.97, which includes eight centuries and 55 fifties. RCB, along with Kohli, will commence their campaign against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), on March 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
