Right now, England just can’t seem to figure out Varun Chakaravarthy. The Indian leg spinner is tearing through an England batting lineup that looks completely lost. During the third T20I at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, Chakaravarthy notched up his second five-wicket haul in this format, helping India take a commanding 3-0 lead in the five-match series. He also made history by becoming the first player to take 10 or more wickets in a bilateral T20I series between India and England. In the first two T20Is in Kolkata and Chennai, he had already taken three and two wickets, respectively.

India's captain, Suryakumar Yadav, handed the ball to Chakaravarthy in the last over of the powerplay, just as England's captain Jos Buttler and opener Ben Duckett were starting to get aggressive after losing Phil Salt early on. Typically, batters go all out in the last over of the powerplay, so Chakaravarthy had a tough task ahead, but he was clearly in top form.

In his first over, he only allowed three singles, slowing down England's momentum right before the powerplay ended. He returned from the other end in the ninth over and delivered a major blow to England. Buttler attempted a reverse sweep but only managed a faint edge to Samson, who not only took a brilliant catch but also persuaded Suryakumar to review the decision.

In his third over, Jamie Smith hit Chakaravarthy for a six, but the spinner quickly bounced back with two wickets in a row. Smith ended up hitting a catch to deep mid-wicket, and Jamie Overton lost his leg stump while trying to paddle sweep. Brydon Carse managed to deny Chakaravarthy a hat-trick with a single to get off the mark, but it was clear that none of the English batters felt comfortable facing him.

Chakaravaethy really showed his skills in his final over when he took down Carse and Jofra Archer. Out of the five batters who fell to him on Tuesday, four made the mistake of trying to sweep without properly reading his deliveries.

"They just couldn't figure him out, so they went for the sweep," commented former India coach Ravi Shastri during the match.

Since rejoining the Indian T20I team about 10 months ago, Chakavarthy has racked up an impressive 27 wickets in just 10 games.

Thanks to Chakaravaethy's outstanding bowling, England was held to 171/9. If it weren't for Duckett's quick-fire half-century, things could have looked pretty grim for England.
