Travis Head is eager to share with his grandkids that he’s gone up against Jasprit Bumrah, calling him "one of the greatest bowlers ever."

Travis Head seems to be the only one who has cracked the code to Jasprit Bumrah's tricky bowling. The aggressive left-handed batsman has only been dismissed by Bumrah once in the current Border-Gavaskar series, and that was after he scored a fiery 89 in Perth's second innings. Unlike many of his Australian teammates, Head has managed to hold his ground against Bumrah, who’s earning a reputation as one of the all-time greats, even in Head's eyes.
"Jasprit is likely to be remembered as one of the greatest fast bowlers ever," Head remarked.
In the first Test, Bumrah, stepping in as captain while Rohit Sharma was out, made things tough for the Aussie batsmen on a lively Perth pitch. He took 5 wickets for just 30 runs in 18 overs, helping to bowl Australia out for a mere 104, and followed it up with 3 for 42 in the second innings, leading India to a massive 295-run victory. His unique front-on bowling style lets him release the ball late, making it easy for him to nail those yorkers whenever he wants.
After getting out for just 11 runs in his first innings of the series, Head has really turned things around, scoring 89, 140, and 152 in his next three matches. He was a key player in the pink ball Test, helping Australia secure a 10-wicket victory and tie the five-match series at 1-1.
As the current top run-scorer of the series, he mentioned how cool it would be to share with his grandkids that he faced a bowler like Bumrah during his prime. "It'll be great to look back on my career and tell the grandkids that I went up against him," he said.
Bumrah's brilliance down under.
Bumrah has overcome some serious back issues, and during the third Test at the Gabba in Brisbane, he surpassed Kapil Dev to become India's top Test wicket-taker in Australia.
At 31, he's been the standout player for India in the series, grabbing nine wickets in the third Test to bring his total to 53 in Australia, breaking Dev's old record of 51.
He was named player of the match in India's impressive 295-run win in Perth during the first Test, although the hosts managed to tie the series in Adelaide.
Right now, he's the top bowler for both teams, with 21 wickets in the series and an incredible average of 10.90. The closest competitors are Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, each with 14 wickets.
