Tim David delivered a standout performance in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's recent match against the Punjab Kings in Bengaluru earlier this week. The Australian batsman played a crucial role in saving his team from a disastrous collapse during a rain-affected 14-over game, finishing with an impressive 50 runs off just 26 balls, which helped RCB set a challenging total of 95/9. Unfortunately, RCB still ended up losing the match.

As the team prepared for a rematch against PBKS in Mullanpur, David chatted with the local broadcasters about his batting and RCB's season so far. He even shared a funny comment when asked about his preferred batting position.

“Honestly, coming in at 250/0 in the 15th over would be perfect,” David joked, laughing.

“But we have a fantastic batting lineup. I love watching them play and just try to do my thing when I get the opportunity. When it’s my turn, I aim to give it my all.”

David mentioned that he has been focusing on his batting in recent weeks, and it’s paying off, as shown in the match against Punjab Kings.

“I feel like I’ve been hitting the ball well and working on my game, and it’s showing. I aim to put pressure on the other team. If we’re batting well, I might not even be needed,” the Australian added.

In the 37th game of the 2025 season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first against Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

Thanks to their steady performances, PBKS is sitting pretty in second place on the points table with five wins out of seven matches. Meanwhile, RCB has secured four victories but is still searching for their first home win, which makes their away games increasingly important as the season nears its midpoint.
