The execution of the newly announced 10-point directive for the Indian cricket team commenced on Sunday, in anticipation of the upcoming home T20I series against England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly reached out to all state associations that will host the India-England white-ball matches over the forthcoming weeks.

In light of the demanding Test schedule, the focus has now shifted entirely to limited-overs cricket as India prepares for the Champions Trophy next month. The Indian team is set to play five T20I matches against England, beginning on January 22, followed by a three-match ODI series against the 2019 world champions.

Led by Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team arrived in Kolkata last weekend for the first T20I on Wednesday and commenced their training on Sunday. Following communication from the BCCI, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) did not arrange separate transportation for any players, mandating that all travel be conducted via the team bus.

This directive is part of the 10-point guideline introduced by the board in response to the disappointing performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. According to the standard operating procedure, "all players must attend the entire duration of scheduled practice sessions and travel collectively to and from the venue. This policy is designed to ensure commitment and cultivate a robust work ethic within the team."

CAB president Snehasish Ganguly confirmed the arrangements and reiterated the association's dedication to complying with the regulations.

"In accordance with the BCCI’s 10-point guidelines for players, the Cricket Association of Bengal has not provided any separate transportation," Snehasish informed PTI.

"A team bus has been designated for the Indian squad. There will be no personal vehicles for the players. We are obligated to adhere to the guidelines, which explicitly state that all players are expected to travel with the team to and from matches and practice sessions," stated the former Bengal cricketer and brother of Sourav Ganguly.

Personal assistant of one of main support staff lodged in separate hotel

During the Australian tour, a personal manager affiliated with a member of the coaching staff attracted attention after being seen in the team hotel and the hospitality box designated for the BCCI's selectors and senior officials. In response to this incident, the BCCI has implemented new regulations prohibiting personal managers or assistants linked to players and support staff from residing in the team hotel.
