Gujarat Titans have demonstrated remarkable teamwork on the field, securing their third consecutive victory in the current IPL season, which has propelled them to the second position on the points table. The champions of the 2022 IPL are once again aiming for the title, as the partnership between Shubman Gill and Ashish Nehra has begun to yield positive results following a disappointing previous season. The franchise successfully built a well-rounded team during the IPL mega auction, with Nehra making significant decisions, and the players are now delivering commendable performances.
After starting their campaign with a loss to Punjab Kings in their opening match, the team has learned from that experience and has been careful to avoid repeating past errors.
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly expressed his admiration for his former teammate Ashish Nehra's coaching abilities after the Titans triumphed over last year's finalists, Sunrisers Hyderabad, in an away game.
“I appreciate how Gujarat has approached their responsibilities in the IPL since the inaugural season. Their team setup is rich in cricketing intellect and strategy. Ashish Nehra has truly showcased his capabilities as head coach, demonstrating exceptional game awareness,” Ganguly remarked on X.
Nehra has consistently been recognized for his exceptional coaching abilities, with team members indicating their pleasure in playing under his leadership. Former players, including Hardik Pandya, who led the team to triumph in 2022, have lauded him for granting players the liberty to showcase their talents and for cultivating a supportive atmosphere within the team, which played a significant role in achieving success on the field.
Mohammed Siraj runs riot against SRH
On Sunday, GT showcased their bowling prowess in the absence of key fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, largely due to an outstanding performance by Mohammed Siraj, who effectively dismantled the strong SRH batting order. Siraj shone on his home ground, claiming four wickets and restricting the opposition to a total of 152 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. GT successfully chased down the target of 153 runs with 20 balls to spare, led by captain Shubman Gill, who delivered an impressive unbeaten 61 off 43 balls. Furthermore, Washington Sundar, batting at number four, demonstrated his skills with a brisk 49 runs off 29 deliveries. This victory marked GT's third win in four matches, while SRH suffered their fourth defeat in five games.
