Aakash Chopra, the former Indian opener, believes that the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League presents a significant opportunity for Mohammed Siraj to reestablish himself within India's white-ball cricket framework. The talented fast bowler recently missed selection for the Champions Trophy squad and has not participated in the T20I team since last year's World Cup victory. His release by Royal Challengers Bangalore prior to the mega auction surprised many, but the Gujarat Titans demonstrated their confidence in him by acquiring him for INR 12.25 crore.

Siraj aims to capture the selectors' attention in hopes of making a comeback. Chopra noted that Siraj's recent months have not unfolded as he had hoped, emphasizing the need for him to prove himself.

"Mohammed Siraj has a significant opportunity ahead of him, as he has been excluded from white-ball cricket. He was not included in the Champions Trophy squad, and his name has not been mentioned for T20 matches. Bangalore also decided to part ways with him. This IPL could be his chance to return to the Indian team following an outstanding performance," Chopra remarked on his YouTube channel.

“Washington Sundar's stock has gone so low”

Chopra also highlighted the challenges facing Washington Sundar, whose value has diminished recently. Although Sundar was part of the Champions Trophy-winning team, he did not get a chance to play in any matches.

"Washington Sundar's value has significantly decreased, and I am unsure why. He was included in the Champions Trophy squad but did not participate in a single game. He is an ICC trophy winner without having played, and he faced similar challenges while with Hyderabad, where he also struggled for opportunities," he stated.

The right-arm spinner was considered a valuable acquisition for the Gujarat Titans during the auction, as they secured him for INR 3.20 crore. Chopra suggested that he could become a key player for the franchise.

In this instance, he has also been undervalued. Consequently, he is somewhat overlooked. Individuals are not recognizing his significance, yet I believe he is a competent player. While he may not excel as a finisher, he is capable of bowling effectively during the powerplay and can contribute at the beginning of the innings. Therefore, he has the potential to serve as a versatile player. This represents a significant opportunity for Washington Sundar, Chopra remarked.
