The right-handed opening batsman from India has displayed exceptional form in the 50-over format, significantly contributing to Rohit Sharma and his team's advancement to the final of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025.
During the three-match ODI series against England, Gill made notable contributions with scores of 87 and 60, culminating in a remarkable 112 in Ahmedabad.

In the opening Test, Smith scored an impressive 141, followed by a striking 131 in the first innings of the second Test, leading Australia to a nine-wicket victory. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Series title and reinstated him among the top five Test batters in the ICC Player Rankings.
