India took a tough loss against Australia in the second Test of the series, and former coach Ravi Shastri thinks that getting the right balance in the lineup is crucial for the team to bounce back in Brisbane. Shastri specifically pointed out Rohit Sharma's batting order; while the Indian captain batted in the middle during the second Test, Shastri feels Rohit shines brightest when he opens the innings.

At an event in Brisbane, where the third Test will be held, Shastri mentioned that the team can maximize Rohit's potential if he starts at the top of the order.

“That’s where he’s been at his best over the last eight or nine years,” Shastri noted. “It’s not that he’s guaranteed to set records – he might – but that’s the spot that suits him best. He needs to lead from the front," he added, as reported by WA Today.

“If he wants to make an impact, if he wants to throw the first punch, that’s the ideal position for him. It’s crucial for India to make the right call here, especially with the series tied at 1-1; this is a pivotal Test match."

Rohit has been struggling in the longest format lately, and in the Adelaide Test, he couldn’t even reach double digits. In his two innings, he managed scores of 3 and 6.

The team that wins Brisbane will win the series.

Shastri also pointed out that the Test at Gabba will set the stage for the series, suggesting that the team that comes out on top in Brisbane will ultimately take home the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. "I truly believe that the team that wins this Test will win the series. I have no doubts about it. So, it's crucial for India to find the right balance, especially since Australia has regained their confidence," Shastri stated.

India heads to Brisbane with fond memories from their last visit, where they triumphed over Australia in the final Test at the Gabba, securing the series 2-1. This victory marked Australia's first Test loss at that venue since 1989.
