Arshad Nadeem is arguably the most celebrated athlete in Pakistan at present. Following his remarkable achievements at the Paris 2024 Olympics, he has surpassed the popularity of the nation’s cricket icons. Nadeem secured a gold medal, marking him as the first Pakistani athlete to earn an Olympic medal. Additionally, he established a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters in the final event. This throw ranks as the sixth-longest in history when considering only the best throw from each competitor.

Recently, a video that has gained significant attention shows Arshad instructing cricket legend Shahid Afridi on the technique of javelin throwing at a school in Jeddah. In the footage, fans are seen expressing their excitement and admiration in the presence of both Arshad and Afridi.

Arshad's remarkable performance in Paris resulted in Neeraj Chopra being unable to defend his title successfully, leading him to secure a silver medal instead. In a recent interview, Neeraj attributed his defeat to Arshad to ongoing injury concerns. Speaking to Lallantop, he remarked, "I typically do not impose pressure on myself to win gold. When I compete, I approach it as if I am a new athlete. I do not dwell on my past Olympic performances or the quality of my previous throws. My primary focus is on my current actions. My physical and mental condition needs to be optimal to achieve a significant throw."

"I am currently experiencing some challenges. I have been managing a groin injury for an extended period, which hinders my ability to push myself during training. Since 2018, I have felt capable of achieving a substantial throw, and I am aware of my potential. The pain I endured has significantly impeded my career. In terms of consistency, I have regularly thrown distances of 88m and 89m. I believe I should have achieved greater distances by now. However, injuries can severely hinder progress."

"To address this issue, I will require surgery. I have not yet made a definitive decision, as groin injuries are particularly complex. The risks involved make a comeback challenging. At present, I am focusing on strengthening the area," he concluded.
