Konstas represented a challenge that India was evidently unprepared for. In the opening over, he displayed the deference that a bowler of Bumrah's caliber commands, but that respect quickly dissipated once he scored his first run in Test cricket. On the penultimate delivery of Bumrah's subsequent over, Konstas attempted a ramp shot. Although he missed, the mere audacity to attempt such a shot against Bumrah foreshadowed the fireworks to come.

And indeed, it did. Just three overs later, Konstas greeted the Indian pacer with a boundary and a six to commence the seventh over, executing a scoop for four followed by a successful ramp shot for six. This was not the end of his audacious display. Captivating the imagination, Konstas opted for another reverse shot, which proved to be a brilliant decision. His onslaught left India in a state of shock; even Virat Kohli could only shake his head in disbelief. This was India's premier bowler—the best in the series—being taken for 14 runs in a single over by a mere 19-year-old.

As he reached a commendable fifty on his debut with a couple of runs, Konstas casually advanced down the wicket and executed a disdainful pull shot off Siraj for a boundary.

Ultimately, India's hopes were fulfilled when Ravindra Jadeja, the top-ranked all-rounder globally, entered the bowling attack. After conceding an early four, he successfully trapped Konstas LBW. Although India had squandered an early review, Konstas made no such error and departed to the dressing room amidst a resounding ovation.
