Liverpool triumphed over Tottenham 5-1 on Sunday at Anfield, securing the Premier League 2024-25 title in Arne Slot’s inaugural season as manager. It was a thrilling match as the guests first scored through former Liverpool player Dominic Solanke in the 12th minute. This prompted a scoring spree as Luis Diaz leveled the match in the 16th minute, followed by goals from Alexis Mac Allister (24’) and Cody Gakpo (34’), bringing the score to 3-1 at half-time.

Then Mohamed Salah netted his team's fourth goal in the 63rd minute, essentially sealing the title for Liverpool. Following that, a Destiny Udogie own goal in the 69th minute made the score 5-1 in favor of Liverpool.

Salah stole the show as he continued to lead the Golden Boot race. Additionally, he featured a unique celebration after scoring, as he sprinted towards the Kop stand and took a selfie with the fans in what was a memorable moment. This instance quickly went viral, and Salah even posted the selfie on his social media after the game.

Salah’s goal also moved him ahead of Sergio Aguero as the top international goalscorer in the Premier League. After the match, Salah was inquired about his comparison of his role under Slot versus his time with Jurgen Klopp previously.

He remarked, “You can observe the statistics. Now I don’t need to defend much. The strategies are quite distinct. I mentioned ‘as long as you relieve me defensively I will contribute offensively’, so I am pleased that I did. He was very attentive, and you can observe the statistics. ”

“When participating in the Premier League, defending is necessary, but I stated that I can take risks and somehow create a difference. My assist count reflects that; chances can also be created,” he added.

Liverpool have also secured the league title for the second time since the 2019-20 season. This marks their 20th overall English top-flight title, tying them with Manchester United for the most by any team.
