India, April 28 -- Liverpool demonstrated their exceptional prowess on Sunday, defeating Tottenham 5-1 to secure the 2024-25 Premier League title at Anfield. Mohamed Salah netted a goal, further increasing his lead in the Golden Boot race with 28 goals, six more than Alexander Isak.

The current season is proving to be Salah's most outstanding campaign across all competitions since he debuted for the Reds. Following Sunday's victory, Salah commended new manager Arne Slot's influence while also subtly criticizing Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp departed from Liverpool after the last season and chose Slot as his successor. Throughout his successful time as Liverpool head coach, Klopp reportedly had some disputes with Salah, as the Egyptian forward prefers to minimize defensive responsibilities.

In a chat with Sky Sports, he stated, "You can see the numbers. Now I don’t have to defend much. The tactics are quite different. I said 'as long as you rest me defensively I will provide offensively', so I am glad that I did. "

"He listened a lot and you can see the numbers. When you play in the Premier League you have to defend but I said that I can gamble and somehow I can make a difference. My number of assists shows that you can create chances as well," he continued.

Salah also recently finalized a contract extension with Liverpool, putting to rest speculations about his potential move to Saudi Arabia. These rumors were particularly fueled during Klopp's time.

Salah also made another subtly critical remark about Klopp, asserting that this victory was more significant than the title achievement under Klopp. Klopp secured his first and only Premier League title with Liverpool in the 2019-20 season.

"This is way better [than five years ago], 100 percent. . . It feels more special with the fans, but I don’t want to take that from anyone. You have a different group now and a different manager. To show you’re able to do it again is something special," he concluded.
