Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar showcased his timeless talent with an impressive innings of 64 runs off just 33 deliveries, captivating a full house at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara during the International Masters League on Wednesday. Despite his exceptional performance, the India Masters could not secure victory in their pursuit of a challenging target of 270, suffering their first defeat of the tournament against the Australia Masters.

At the age of 50, Tendulkar swiftly reached his half-century in just 27 balls, delighting the audience with his exquisite late cuts and signature straight drives. The crowd erupted in excitement as he effortlessly dispatched the Australian bowlers, hitting four sixes and seven fours.

Throughout his innings, Tendulkar was the driving force for the India Masters, remaining undeterred by the loss of wickets at the other end. He propelled the team to a score of 100 for 3 at the halfway point, but his dismissal—caught by Xavier Doherty off the bowling of Daniel Christian—stopped the team's momentum, leaving them with a formidable challenge. Ultimately, the India Masters were bowled out for 174 runs.

Here's how fans reacted to Tendulkar's heroics:

Australia's first win

Yusuf Pathan's rapid 25 runs off 15 deliveries did provide a momentary spark; however, the remainder of the batting order found it challenging to gain momentum against a formidable Australian bowling attack. Left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty stood out as the key performer, achieving the tournament's inaugural five-wicket haul with impressive figures of 5/25, thereby securing Australia's first victory of the tournament.

Prior to this, Shane Watson and Ben Dunk executed a remarkable batting display, forming an unbroken partnership of 236 runs for the second wicket. Watson, having narrowly escaped an early dismissal, took full advantage of his good fortune by scoring his second century of the tournament, while Dunk also reached three figures with a powerful innings.

Their combined efforts propelled Australia Masters to an imposing total of 269/1, a score that ultimately proved too challenging for India Masters to chase down, despite Tendulkar's exceptional performance.
