Left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty stood out as the key performer, achieving the tournament's inaugural five-wicket haul with impressive figures of 5/25, thereby securing Australia's first victory of the tournament.
Prior to this, Shane Watson and Ben Dunk executed a remarkable batting display, forming an unbroken partnership of 236 runs for the second wicket. Watson, having narrowly escaped an early dismissal, took full advantage of his good fortune by scoring his second century of the tournament, while Dunk also reached three figures with a powerful innings.
