As the nation celebrated Holi on Friday, Sachin Tendulkar took the lead in festivities for the India Masters, enjoying a well-deserved break before the eagerly awaited International Masters League T20 final set for Sunday.

On Thursday, India Masters triumphed over Australia with a commanding 94-run victory. Yuvraj Singh was the star of the first innings, scoring 59 runs off just 30 balls, which included one four and seven sixes. Meanwhile, India Masters captain Sachin contributed 42 runs from 30 balls, featuring seven fours, helping the team to a total of 220/7 in their 20 overs. For Australia, both Xavier Doherty and Dan Christian claimed two wickets each.

In their attempt to defend a target of 221 runs, Shahbaz Nadeem excelled with four wickets, leading to Australia’s collapse at 126 runs in 18.1 overs. Irfan Pathan also took two wickets for India.

During the Holi celebrations, Sachin shared a video capturing the moment he surprised Yuvraj and Ambati Rayudu, along with their teammates. 

In the footage, Sachin humorously notes that Yuvraj Singh is still asleep and has not joined the festivities. He knocks on Yuvraj’s door, and along with his fellow former cricketers, douses him with dry and watercolours, prompting him to join in the celebration. They also repeated this playful act with former CSK player Rayudu, who had initially opted out of the celebrations.

In the semi-final against Australia, India made strategic changes to their playing XI by including Vinay Kumar and Nadeem, while Saurabh Tiwary, Abhimanyu Mithun, and Rahul Sharma were excluded from the squad. On the other hand, Australia introduced Ben Dunk, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Xavier Doherty into their lineup.

This match served as a significant opportunity for India to exact revenge, having suffered a substantial defeat to Australia during the group stage, where fans witnessed impressive centuries from Shane Watson and Dunk.

The game also featured a remarkable performance from Sachin, who quickly shifted into an aggressive batting style after the early dismissal of Rayudu. He showcased his exceptional skills with elegant stroke play and stunning boundaries, igniting excitement among the fans.
