Two sporting legends ignited excitement in the world of cricket just three days apart. Following this, on Tuesday, his idol Sachin Tendulkar showcased his timeless talent with a classic innings in the International Masters League held in Navi Mumbai.
Chasing a target of 133 runs at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Gurkeerat Singh Mann took the lead in the opening partnership, aggressively striking five boundaries within the first two overs. Tendulkar soon found his rhythm, hitting consecutive boundaries, including a well-placed shot through deep extra cover against Steven Finn in the third over, followed by a powerful pick-up shot over square leg.
The 51-year-old continued his assault, scoring a third boundary in the next over against Chris Tremlett, and then unleashed a flurry of runs against Tim Bresnan in the final over of the powerplay, hitting three consecutive balls to the boundary. He began with a six over deep square leg, followed by two more boundaries in his explosive 21-ball innings of 34 runs.
Chris Schofield ended Tendulkar's innings with a dismissal on the first ball of the seventh over, concluding a formidable 75-run opening partnership.
The crowd of 36,000 in Navi Mumbai was left in awe as they witnessed Sachin deliver a "vintage masterclass." The highlight for the man revered as the "God of cricket" was undoubtedly the resounding chants of 'Sachin, Sachin' echoing throughout the stadium.

India Masters win two-in-two
Earlier in the evening, the economical bowling performances of Dhawal Kulkarni and Pawan Negi limited the England Masters to a total of 132 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Kulkarni concluded his spell with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 21 runs, while Negi contributed with 2 wickets for just 16 runs.
In reply, the Indian team's explosive opening partnership, along with an unbeaten 63 runs off 36 balls from Gurkeerat, enabled them to comfortably chase down the target with 8.2 overs remaining. Yuvraj Singha provided the final flourish to the innings, scoring 27 runs not out from 14 deliveries.
With this victory, India Masters have secured two wins out of two matches, maintaining their position at the top of the points table. Their next encounter will be against South Africa Masters at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
