Rohit Sharma's Daughter Samaira Stays Close After India's Champions Trophy Victory; Ritika's Response is Priceless

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma, a formidable batsman who instills fear in the hearts of new-ball bowlers worldwide, transforms into a different individual when he is with his family. He radiates joy, displaying no signs of concern. This is particularly evident when he reunites with his wife and daughter after successfully leading India to yet another ICC title. Following India's victory over New Zealand by four wickets in the final held in Dubai on Sunday, Rohit celebrated alongside his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, and daughter, Samaira, at the Dubai International Stadium.

Ritika and Samaira had made the journey to Dubai to witness the India vs New Zealand final, and their support was rewarded as India claimed the trophy. Samaira was so overjoyed and relieved that she embraced her father tightly, refusing to let go, while Ritika could not contain her laughter.

As a devoted father, Rohit took his time, fully aware of the significance of this moment for both his daughter and the entire nation.

Rohit, spinners shine as India win Champions Trophy

Rohit Sharma delivered a determined performance, scoring 76 runs to complement an impressive display of spin bowling, leading India to a four-wicket victory over New Zealand and securing a historic third Champions Trophy title. In pursuit of 252 runs, India began strongly, with their captain achieving his first half-century of the tournament, followed by KL Rahul's unbeaten 34, which ensured the win with six balls remaining. This triumph adds to India's previous titles in 2002 and 2013, surpassing Australia, who have won the tournament twice.

As the top-ranked ODI team globally, India concluded the eight-nation tournament, held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, without a loss.

"It feels wonderful," Rohit remarked. "We played commendable cricket throughout the tournament, and achieving this result is incredibly satisfying."

Star player Virat Kohli expressed, "It has been fantastic; we aimed to recover after a challenging tour in Australia. It has been a pleasure to play alongside such talented young players who are contributing significantly to India's progress."

He further noted, "When departing, one hopes to leave the team in a better state. Players like Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Rahul have made significant contributions. The team is in capable hands."

Both Kohli and Rohit experienced a challenging period during India's 3-1 Test series loss in Australia earlier this year, and there was speculation regarding their potential retirements from ODIs as they entered the tournament.

In a contest dominated by spin on a slow Dubai pitch, New Zealand's bowlers placed India in a precarious position at 203-5, with Rohit and Shreyas Iyer, who scored 48, dismissed.

However, Rahul maintained his composure, and alongside Hardik Pandya (18) and Ravindra Jadeja, who struck the winning boundary, guided the team to victory amidst enthusiastic cheers from a predominantly Indian audience clad in blue.

India played all their matches at the Dubai International Stadium after opting not to tour Pakistan due to political tensions.
