Rohit Sharma Struggles in Nets After Hamstring Issue in Win Against Pakistan: Report

Rohit Sharma may have claimed that his hamstring was fine following India's victory over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy; however, reports indicate this may not be entirely accurate. Although there have been no indications of issues arising from within the Indian camp, Rohit's movements during the team's recent practice sessions at the ICC Academy in Dubai suggest otherwise.

As reported by the Times of India, Rohit refrained from engaging in any intense physical activity from the outset. He did not participate in any throwdowns during the session, which marked India's first practice after a two-day break following their impressive six-wicket win against Pakistan. India is scheduled to compete against New Zealand in their final group match on Sunday.

The report also mentions that Rohit began jogging lightly under the supervision of strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai. While he was present throughout the net session and engaged in multiple discussions with head coach Gautam Gambhir and the coaching staff, Rohit did not face any deliveries.

Vigorous session for Virat Kohli

Rohit's long-time teammate and fellow batting stalwart, Virat Kohli, engaged with a variety of bowlers during practice sessions. As reported by PTI, he not only faced bowlers such as Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja but also dedicated over thirty minutes to batting against net bowlers in preparation for the upcoming match against New Zealand on Sunday.

Mohammed Shami, similar to Rohit, encountered difficulties at the beginning of the match against Pakistan. Nevertheless, he was observed bowling vigorously, successfully swinging the ball in both directions and striking Kohli on the pads twice. Additionally, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh appeared equally committed to performing at their best during the training session. Bowling coach Morne Morkel rejoined the team after attending to a personal matter. Morkel had departed from the Indian camp a few days before the Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh on February 20. He was seen engaged in an extensive discussion with head coach Gautam Gambhir while the players conducted their warm-up exercises.
