Rohit Sharma’s Hilarious Dig at Shardul Thakur’s Late Arrival: “Ghar Ka Team Hai Kya?”

With the playoff race intensifying in IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians have reached peak performance at the ideal moment. Following a disappointing beginning to the season with only one victory in their initial five matches, the Hardik Pandya-led team has rebounded with four straight wins. Their upcoming challenge is against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday at home – a vital match for both teams still competing for the playoff spots.
As Mumbai gets ready to seek revenge for their 12-run loss to LSG earlier this month at Ekana Stadium, a lighter moment from MI’s practice session became popular on Saturday. In a video posted by the franchise’s official X account, experienced opener Rohit Sharma could be seen playfully mocking LSG’s Shardul Thakur for being late to practice.
“Kya re hero, abhi aa raha hai, ghar ka team hai kya? (Hey, hero, you’re coming now? Is this your home? )” Rohit was heard saying, prompting laughter from teammates and fans online alike.

Rohit, who was sidelined during the last MI vs LSG match due to an injury, appears to be peaking at the perfect moment. After starting IPL 2025 with a duck against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, the 37-year-old has found his rhythm again. He heads into Sunday’s match following two consecutive fifties – an unbeaten 76 off 45 balls in the rematch against CSK, and a smooth 70 on 46 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which aided MI in securing a seven-wicket victory.
In the meantime, Shardul Thakur has made a significant impression since joining LSG as a fill-in for the injured Mohsin Khan. The right-arm bowler is currently the franchise’s leading wicket-taker, having secured 12 wickets in nine games.
In the last match against MI, Shardul concluded with figures of 1/40 in his four overs, taking the wicket of MI wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton.
With MI regaining their form and LSG in a strong position in their pursuit of playoff spots, spectators can anticipate an electrifying clash at Wankhede.
