Rizwan's Comparison Backfires: Pakistan Captain Slammed for Equating Jadeja and Axar with Part-Timers

Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer, took a jab at Pakistan's captain Mohammad Rizwan for his comparison of Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja to Salman Ali Agha and Khushdil Shah. This came after Rizwan faced some tough questions from the Pakistani media following their six-wicket loss to India in the ICC Men's Champions Trophy Group A match at the Dubai International Stadium.

Virat Kohli scored his 51st ODI century and 82nd overall international ton, leading India to chase down 242 runs comfortably. Meanwhile, Pakistan is under scrutiny for only having one main spinner, Abrar Ahmed, while other teams boast multiple spin options.

When asked about this, Rizwan likened Axar and Jadeja to his part-time spinners. Aakash Chopra couldn't help but mock the comparison, saying, "delulu is the only sululu."

Chopra pointed out that Rizwan thinks Salman Agha and Khushdil Shah are on par with Jadeja and Axar as bowlers, adding, "You can’t make this stuff up. Delulu Is The Only Sululu." He also mentioned that despite the one-sided matches, Pakistan's meme game and cricket content remain top-notch after their defeat.

What exactly did Rizwan say?

After the match against India wrapped up, a reporter asked Rizwan if it was a mistake to have only one specialist spinner in the squad.

Rizwan responded, "No, you can't really say that we messed up by choosing just one spinner. Look at the Indian team; they have Kuldeep as their main spinner, while Jadeja and Axar Patel are more like all-rounders. We also have Salman Ali Agha, who has bowled well in other countries, and Khushdil Shah, who has also performed well in the past."

He continued, "In ODIs, we need to take wickets at crucial times. If we don’t get wickets in the middle overs, winning becomes tough. I’ll answer that question by saying we have three bowlers who consistently perform well: Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris. But today just wasn’t our day."

In the match against India, Pakistan scored 241 runs after choosing to bat first. Unfortunately, their bowlers struggled to take wickets consistently, allowing India to win by six wickets with 45 balls remaining.

Now, Pakistan is nearly out of the tournament, and a loss for Bangladesh against New Zealand will seal their fate.
