Pakistan, led by Mohammad Rizwan, took a commanding lead in the three-match ODI series against South Africa after clinching the 2nd ODI by 81 runs on Thursday in Cape Town. They set a solid total of 329 runs, thanks to Babar Azam and Rizwan, who scored 73 and 80 runs, respectively. But it was Kamran Ghulam who really stole the show with a blistering 63 runs off just 32 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes.

Defending the total was a breeze for Pakistan, with Shaheen Shah Afridi taking four wickets and securing an easy victory. However, things got a bit heated after the 26th over when Mohammad Rizwan and Heinrich Klaasen exchanged some words.

The tension kicked off when Haris Rauf bowled the last ball of the 26th over and had a few choice words for Klaasen, who clearly didn’t take it well. The umpires had to step in and remind the players to keep the game moving.

Mohammad Rizwan jumped into the mix, chatting animatedly with Klaasen. There was some finger-pointing at the South African batter, and Klaasen wasn’t backing off either.

Babar Azam then rushed over to see what the fuss was about. Haris Rauf started to walk towards Rizwan and Klaasen, but Babar told him to step back. Before long, everything settled down, and the game continued..

Klaasen's 97-run effort goes to waste.

South Africa was aiming for 330, and their chances rested on Heinrich Klaasen, who really stepped up with a solid 97 runs off 74 balls, smashing 8 fours and 4 sixes. Unfortunately, he kept losing teammates along the way and didn’t get the support he needed, leading to an 81-run victory for Pakistan.

Shaheen Shah Afridi stole the spotlight by taking four wickets, getting rid of David Miller, Marco Jansen, Andile Phehlukwayo, and Kwena Maphaka.

Naseem Shah grabbed three wickets while Abrar Ahmed picked up two. On the flip side, Haris Rauf didn’t manage to take any wickets.

This marks Pakistan's second consecutive ODI series victory. Just before this, Rizwan and the team triumphed over Australia 2-1 in their three-match ODI series down under.
