Ravindra Jadeja's Heartfelt Post for MS Dhoni Breaks the Internet Amid CSK's Struggling IPL 2025 Start

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who have claimed the championship title five times, have not had the best start in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Following a victory in their opening match against their long-time rivals, the Mumbai Indians, the team led by Ruturaj Gaikwad has suffered consecutive losses to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Rajasthan Royals. In light of this, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has reached out to the fans, conveying optimism for a turnaround in the team's performance.

After the defeat to the Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati, Jadeja posted a photo with MS Dhoni, expressing his belief that the team's luck will improve.

He captioned the image with the words, "Things will change."

Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni made a valiant effort to secure a win for CSK against the Rajasthan Royals earlier. The situation required 39 runs from the last two overs. In the penultimate over, bowled by Tushar Deshpande, both batsmen managed to score 19 runs.

As the final over commenced, CSK needed 20 runs, with Sandeep Sharma tasked with bowling. The first delivery was wide, and MS Dhoni appeared poised to accomplish the extraordinary.

However, Sandeep Sharma, in conjunction with Shimron Hetmyer, succeeded in dismissing the wicketkeeper-batter on the very first ball of the over, extinguishing CSK's hopes for a remarkable victory. Ultimately, CSK fell short by six runs, allowing the Rajasthan Royals to claim their first win of the season.

Dhoni scored 16 runs off 11 balls, while Jadeja finished not out with 32 runs from 22 balls.

Why is Dhoni batting lower down the order?

MS Dhoni came in to bat at the seventh position against the Rajasthan Royals. Previously, he had batted at ninth against RCB, which sparked considerable controversy. Following the match against RR, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming clarified that Dhoni's ability to bat for extended periods is limited due to his troublesome knees.

"MS assesses his condition. His body, particularly his knees, is not what it once was. While he is moving reasonably well, there is still a wear-and-tear factor involved. He cannot bat for ten overs at full intensity. Therefore, he will evaluate on a given day what he can contribute. If the match is closely contested, as it was today, he will come in a bit earlier and trust his teammates when other chances arise. He is managing that balance," Fleming stated.

"I mentioned this last year as well; he is too important to us in terms of leadership and wicket-keeping to have him bat in the ninth or tenth overs. He has never actually done that. So, typically, from around the 13th or 14th over, he is looking to come in, depending on who is at the crease," he added.

Currently, CSK occupies the seventh position in the points table. The team is set to face the Delhi Capitals next on Saturday, April 5, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
