Ravi Bishnoi’s Wild Fist Pump After Six Off Bumrah Leaves Rishabh Pant in Splits

Lucknow Super Giants encountered their sixth defeat of the season – and a significant one – as they suffered a 54-run loss to Mumbai Indians on Sunday. In pursuit of an imposing target of 216 runs at Wankhede Stadium, LSG were bowled out for 161 within 20 overs; however, despite the match being virtually lost, LSG's Ravi Bishnoi seized the opportunity to celebrate when he hit Jasprit Bumrah – MI's leading pacer and one of the finest bowlers across formats – for a six over long on.
Bumrah, who had previously set the record for the most wickets in MI history, was in the midst of his spell with the game nearly decided when Bishnoi opted to challenge him. A length ball from Bumrah resulted in Bishnoi powering it over long-on for an impressive six, thereby thwarting Bumrah’s aspirations for a five-wicket haul. As the ball ascended into the stands, Bishnoi was evidently thrilled, pumping his fists and reveling in the shot before Bumrah.
The reaction did not go unnoticed. Bumrah, maintaining his characteristic composure, displayed a wry smile in response to Bishnoi's celebration. Nonetheless, the moment did not conclude there. In the dugout, Lucknow’s captain Rishabh Pant was observed laughing and gesturing towards Bishnoi.

Mumbai Indians kicked things off with some serious firepower. Suryakumar Yadav kept his IPL 2025 streak alive, scoring his third fifty and surpassing 400 runs this season. His quick 54 off 28 balls, featuring four sixes and four fours, helped maintain MI's energy, even with a few wickets falling fast. While Suryakumar and Rickelton put up a strong total, Lucknow's bowlers like Mayank Yadav (2/40) and Digvesh Rathi (1/48) struggled to keep the runs in check. MI ended with a hefty 215/7, thanks to Naman Dhir's late surge (25* off 11 balls) and debutant Corbin Bosch's 20 off 10 balls adding to the score. The Super Giants had a rough start, losing their key player Aiden Markram early in the Powerplay and couldn't bounce back. Rishabh Pant, back at no.4, had another disappointing outing, scoring just 4 before getting caught trying a reverse-sweep.
